Sheunhay Chongtoua
This is a story of a cat named Melody, who is trapped on an abandoned island by their overwhelming fear of water. As the frustration of their loneliness consumes them, Melody's love of music guides them on a treacherous journey in search of the source of music mysteriously coming from the sea.
ABOUT
Ode to Melody (2022) is a 3D animated short film for my senior capstone project at the Digital Animation Center (DAC) at the University of Colorado Denver. Animation students of the DAC work in groups to create their own animated short films, in which they apply all they have learned into a final product. From pre to post-production, students work together very much like the collaborative setting in the industry. The film was nominated for multiple categories in the Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF) 2022.
